Churchill Society of New Orleans

The mission of The Churchill Society of New Orleans is to spread appreciation of the thoughts, words, and deeds of Winston Spencer Churchill, to foster an outlook on world events that builds on his leadership, his wisdom, his courage, his love of Anglo-American traditions, and his renowned prescience and to enjoy the brilliance of his writings, his speeches and his wit.


The 2020-2021 High-School Essay Contest is over. 
We received15 essays, from students at 5 different schools.  Two essays were judged to be outstanding, each worthy of a $1,500 First Prize. 
The Prizewinners were the following:

     First Prize – Samuel Chang of Don Bosco Preparatory High School , Fort Lee, New Jersey

     First Prize – Elizabeth Northup, International High School and New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts

     Second Prize – Rachel Guan of Haynes Academy

     Second Prize – Alexis Steckler of St. Martin’s Episcopal School

     Third Prize – Dimitri Rice of St. Martin’s Episcopal School

The 2021-2022 Essay Contest will be announced in the fall.
